As a Children’s Nurse, your compassion, resilience, and strength make a meaningful difference every day. At Gloucestershire Hospitals, we’re seeking dedicated professionals to join our team and help us deliver exceptional care to our youngest patients.

Why be a GHFT
Children’s Nurse

Join a team where your impact on children and young people truly matters. Here, you’ll find a supportive community where colleagues lift each other up every step of the way. Our services cover a wide range of specialist inpatient care, including Paediatric Oncology, Paediatric Critical Care level 2, Paediatric Surgery and a 24 hour Paediatric Assessment Unit, alongside a comprehensive Children’s Outpatient Service.

We are proud to offer an Oncology Shared Care Unit and a dedicated High Dependency Unit, giving you the chance to deepen your expertise and build specialist skills that will support your professional and personal development.

As a team, we’re proud to lead the way in shaping paediatric services. We were a national test site for the implementation of the Paediatric Early Warning System (PEWS) and actively participated in the NHS England project for Martha’s Rule. Gloucester is a pilot site for joint outreach clinics with Bristol, enhancing access to specialist care within our community.

Our Endocrine Specialist Nurse service is breaking new ground in a District General Hospital setting and plays a key role in a national working group dedicated to improving care for patients with endocrine conditions. These initiatives reflect our commitment to excellence and innovation—and to providing our staff with opportunities to be at the forefront of paediatric care.

Join our children’s
nursing family.

We provide a supportive and friendly environment,
making it a great place to grow your career in
children’s nursing while enjoying a better
balance between work and home life.
